I haven't been feeling to well the past few days, I bought a puri-patch detoxification kit and it really didn't suit me, so it took a few days for it to work out of my system.
Today I started making crazy quilt pouches and it took all day to just do four fronts. It's very time consuming going through the fabric and picking the right colours and textures. I'm sure it will be quicker when I get more practiced. I'm looking forward to embellishing them now.
I well and truly wrecked my journal a couple of days ago. I took it in the shower and then decided I would just rip it up. I didn't want to make a paper chain, eat something colourful and lick the page, etc. - I just didn't want to do it and I really wanted to break the spine up, so I did. I'm sure there must be something really significant in taking this destructive action but it hasn't come to me yet.

Love the wrecked journal sculpture! Glad you did what you wanted.
ReplyDeleteWow - you have definitely achieved the wrecking queen award! lol
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better.Nothing worse than being unwell. Do take care of yourself.
Can't wait to see your pouches. That has been a desire of mine - to create a crazy quilt. Never done it before, but I have been collecting satins and velvets for awhile.
*laugh* not quite sure what to say about the wrecking except that you have definitely wrecked!
ReplyDeleteMy Mum made quilts for a few years and I remember the time it used to take laying out fabrics and matching and balancing... Well worth it in the end though!
hello. I am excited to see your crazy quilt pouches. I did not know how to email you personally about the nice comment you left on my blog. Can you email me? Flowerscrazyq@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThat wrecking is evidence of some pretty major energy operating - keep it flowing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful wreckage you have produced there! The significance of it: release of powerful creative energy ... get rid of stuff that you don't want to do any more ... some new creative project rising up from the horizon ... :)
ReplyDeleteYou are MY HERO!! What an amazingly HONEST wreckage!!
ReplyDeleteI don't want to do any of those things either. I keep flipping through the sodding thing and not finding anything I *want* to do. So I'm not gonna. That, in itself, is something...I think...:)
Quilting is one of those labours of love that I would never in a gazillion years have the patience for and I'm always in awe of people who do it....
Thanks for your comments everyone. I was feeling a little sheepish about admitting what I had done but who knows what will rise up out of the wreckage, as HybridJ said. You made me laugh Mel. Thanks for the wrecking queen award, Bev!
