MY CALENDAR FOR JUNE
I have been following Tara Lever's blog and find her suggestions very helpful, I printed off today's post as a reminder that we need to use our sketchbooks as places to practice not a place to make beautiful art. A place to practice and develop ideas. I am one of those out-of-sight, out-of-mind people so I need the hard copy in front of me to remind me not to be so hard on myself!
I started a daily practice of what I call DreamScapes taken from Tara's practice of DailyScapes, (thank you for the idea Tara) but after only four attempts I stopped. My usual "not good enough" messages from my inner critic were screaming at me. So, today is Monday, a new week, and thanks to Tara a new start.
I NEED TO REMEMBER:
IT'S OKAY TO DO BAD ART
IT'S A LEARNING PROCESS
My word for today is PLAY - HAVE FUN WITH IT, THIS NOT A SERIOUS THING!!!!!!
Good words of advice! I am one of those people that think that everything that gets included in my journal needs to be perfect and I have a hard time remembering that it's a working journal and not being done with the expectation of being framed or shown in public.
